Can Alcohol and Smoking Cause Erectile Dysfunction?
Erectile Dysfunction term stands for inability of a man to maintain an erection long and strong enough during the full act of sexual intercourse. Scientific studies have found some relation between smoking and alcohol abuse and erectile dysfunction problems.
Needless to say that many lifestyle habits can effect erectile dysfunction and overall male health. Alcohol and smoking lead to intoxication of the human body. It is known that any forms of intoxication such as drug abuse and smoking have been shown to be the definitely the cause of all dysfunctions. Being overweight or even diet can also affect ED. But smoking and alcohol abuse seems to be the biggest reasons to change lifestyle.

It is proven that anyone who smokes more than a pack of cigarettes per day has a 60% bigger chance of suffering from erectile dysfunction than the one who don't smoke. Even those who were smokers at one time and have stopped now have a 33% chance having erectile dysfunction. Comparing this to those who never smoked you will see that they only have a 13% chance of having erectile dysfunction.
By-turn abuse or even use of alcohol can definitely affect sexual response. Alcohol has a powerful effect on your body, your health and on your sexual response. Too much alcohol can depress your nervous system, dampening your tactile senses and blocking internal messages that are needed in order to achieve an erection. Even limited consumption of alcohol can cause erection problems. Some others may experience erectile dysfunction only after consuming large amounts of alcohol. Chronic alcohol abuse will cause damaging effects on general health that ultimately lead to sexual dysfunction.

So as we can see there is a direct coupling between erectile dysfunction & smoking and alcohol.
The good news is that all of this can be prevented. The best thing to do is to stop smoking and taking moderate amounts of alcohol, if you have to.
So if you don't want to risk affecting your sexual performance for the rest of your life it is the best time to stop this as soon as possible. The longer you smoke and take alcohol, the more you are compromising your sexual system, sexual abilities and overall health.
